American made MD500 Defender helicopters have somehow wound up in the hands of Colombian drug cartels. There is no indication which cartel received the helicopters or which particular model of the MD 500 it was(there are several varying in lethality), however what is known is that U.S. is calling for an inquiry how the helicopters made it there. There is a paragraph at the bottom stating that Canadian mediators had a role in getting the helicopters there, but that is all the info they give.
